How Your Elemental Balance Is Actually Counted
Elemental balance isn't a scientifically validated system, but the counting behind it is real and checkable — and it uses more of your chart than most people assume.
Seven placements, not one
Your Sun sign has one element, but a dominant-element reading pools seven separate placements: the Sun, the Moon, and the five visible planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn), each landing in its own zodiac sign for a given birth date. Every one of those seven signs carries an element — fire, earth, air, or water — and the dominant element is simply whichever one shows up most across all seven, not just whichever one your Sun happens to be in.
Why that changes the result
Two people with the same Sun sign can end up with different dominant elements once the other six placements are counted, because Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn move at different speeds and land in different signs depending on the exact birth date. A tie across the four elements is possible too — in that case there's genuinely no single dominant element, and the reading says so rather than forcing a pick.
